Who doesn’t love drafting a receiver that everyone else overlooked? While most fantasy analysts are fawning over the likes of Brandon Aiyuk and Davante Adams, I’m not really interested in debating receivers with obvious value. Anyone can draft a big name.
That being said, let’s find a value play at receiver. Robby Anderson is the definition of value in 2021. He got a major upgrade at quarterback from a talent standpoint with the addition of Sam Darnold. He has the 2nd easiest schedule among wide receivers for 2021.
He ranked 12th in average targets per game in 2020 in a short-handed, anemic offense headed by Teddy Bridgewater. To top it all off, Anderson ranked 15th among NFL receivers in air yards in 2020, which proves he has value as a deep threat.
Anderson is ready to pop off and add significant value to any roster in 2021. Provided that he is healthy, he will see an increase in targets in Matt Rhule’s offense, which will increasingly attack downfield this season due to the addition of a big arm in Sam Darnold.
To find value at the receiver position in 2021, look no further than Robby Anderson.
Anderson’s ADP per FantasyPros is 89th overall, but he is ranked as the 72nd player overall in ECR (expert consensus rankings). This difference means that while experts are high on Anderson, your average fantasy owner (AKA your friend Bill) will not be chomping at the bit to draft him.
This being said, look for Anderson to be available in later rounds, perhaps even 2 rounds after where he should go based on his ECR.
